* The Beaufort scale is not an objective measurement of wind speed but is more an assessment of the effect of wind on the environment.
**The empirical relationship between wind speed measured on the Beaufort scale and wind speed based on the average speed of 10 minutes. In fact, the speed in this interval of 10 minutes can vary significantly. As a result the gusts can not be measured on a scale Beaufort.
The convertion formula from m/s to Beaufort:
W = 0,836B3/2 where W is the wind speed in m/s and B is the value in Beaufort.
1 m/s = 3,6 km/h = 1,944 knots = 2,237 miles/hour.
